FAQ
- Q. What is SVF?
-
A. SVF (Serial Vector Format) was developed by Texas Instruments for describing IEEE1149.1 (JTAG) bus operations. By supporting the SVF format, it is possible to configure devices like those from Xilinx and Altera.
- Q. I purchased the previous JTAG-Blazer model (JB010-FP0). Is it possible to update it in order to use SVF?
-
A. Yes, it is possible. In fact, you only need to download the new user interface software in order to configure with SVF.
- Q. Can devices not listed as being supported in the specifications (Xilinx) be used with JTAG-Blazer?
-
A. If SVF created for the target device can be written using iMPACT, it is most likely that they can be used with JTAG-Blazer. While this is not guaranteed, they have been no cases in which this test proved to be incorrect.
- Q. What configuration file formats are supported?
-
A. SVF, XSVF and JSVF are supported by JTAG-Blazer.
- Q. Why can't JB Manager find the JTAG-Blazer?
-
A. Please make sure the JTAG-Blazer is turned on.
Please make sure the LAN port link LED is flashing.
Please make sure there is no router between the JTAG-Blazer and your PC.
-
Q. Why cant I configure a CoolRunner or Virtex-II Pro with a XSVF file created in SE6.2i iMpact?
-
A. Please install SE6.3i SP1 or above and recreate the XSVF file.
Please also update the JTAG-Blazer firmware data to version 1.01b or above.
- Q. Why do IP searches fail?
-
A. If you have a Firewall operating on your PC, please check that broadcast packets can be sent and received.
Please check that the TCP ports used by JTAG-Blazer are free on your network.
