Atmark Techno Inc. (Head Office: Sapporo Japan, President: Tomohiro Saneyoshi) together with Digi International Inc. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Japan, Representative: Yoshiaki Nezu) and Silex Technology Inc. (Head Office: Higashi-Osaka, Japan, President: Takesi Kono) have developed WA3000, a small form-factor Linux ready board with WLAN support.

The WA3000 is based on the Digi International NetSilicon NS9750 (ARM926EJ-S, 200MHz) network processor and the IEEE802.11abg compliant Silex Technology SX-10WAG WLAN module, with Atmark Techno undertaking the overall board development and Linux porting. Having both WLAN and LAN interfaces is the most prominent feature of the WA3000, allowing it to be utilized in various network environments. With the rich open source software resources made available by providing Linux as the standard operating system, users can focus directly on application development and achieve speedy development of WLAN/LAN ready embedded devices.

The WA3000 has a sample price of 49,500 JPY for the development kit (WA3000-D00), with an open price for volume production boards (WA3000-U00). Both will begin shipping in Janurary, 2007. The WA3000 will be on display at the Embedded Technology 2006 Conference (PACIFICO YOKOHAMA, organized by Japan System House Association) at both Atmark Techno's booth (D-48) and Silex Technology's booth (E-20) from the 15th to 17th of November.
